Does it support image editing? ▾
Yes! Seedream 5.0 Pro, 5.0 Lite, 4.5, and 4.0 can accept the URL or Base64 encoding of the original image in the image parameter, and then describe the editing intent through prompt to achieve partial modifications or overall style transformations.
How long does image generation take? ▾
In most cases, Seedream can complete image generation within 5-15 seconds. The specific time depends on the model version and output resolution. 4K resolution images will take longer than 1K resolution. You can also use callback notifications (callback_url) to avoid blocking waits.
What resolutions are supported? ▾
Seedream 5.0 Pro supports 1K/2K; 5.0 Lite supports 2K/3K/4K; 4.5 supports 2K/4K; 4.0 supports 1K/2K/4K. These models also support adaptive and explicit sizes that conform to the pixel range of each model.

For the best single image quality, Seedream 5.0 Pro is recommended (starting at $0.049 per image); choose Seedream 5.0 Lite (at $0.035 per image) when you need a series of images, streaming, or online search; Seedream 4.0 is a cost-effective choice that balances image generation and editing (at $0.032 per image).
What is sequential image generation? ▾
Set sequential_image_generation: "auto", the Seedream 5.0 Lite, 4.5, and 4.0 models will generate a series of stylistically consistent and content-related images based on your input (Seedream 5.0 Pro does not support group images). Suitable for scenarios that require visual consistency, such as comic storyboards, storyboards, and product series displays.
Can the watermark be turned off? ▾
Yes. Set watermark: false in the request to turn off the AI-generated watermark. By default, the watermark is enabled. Please use the AI-generated content identification reasonably according to local regulations.
